Foremost - 01
A roundup - links, product, camera roll, Carter Young & Acre information, Montana, etc.
Hey everyone - first of all, thank you all so much for subscribing to our Substack. This feels like a more authentic way to communicate with you all (rolling our eyes at Instagram lately.) Running a small business is legitimately the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but the connection with the community around is so incredibly fulfilling. I’m so touched and honored that you are all a part of this.
Anyways - Foremost is a monthly roundup of cool things we’ve seen around, whether that’s product, an article, whatever. I’ve found it harder and harder to find good content recently, so this is a compilation of the things I’ve consumed in the past month or so. If you’ve found anything you’ve enjoyed or thought was cool, please leave a comment and let me know - would love to check out the shit y’all enjoy too. - Josh

GQ Men of the Year Red Carpet Livestream - The shop’s favorite podcast How Long Gone (Chris Black and Jason Stewart) hosted the red carpet for GQ’s Men of the Year party this last Thursday, and as always, they prove to be immensely funny and cool in talking to guests. Jason’s interaction with Katt Williams is one funniest things I’ve heard in a long time.
Aaron Levine Wants to Dress America - Everyone’s style muse, Aaron Levine, is starting his own line after stints at Abercrombie, Madewell, ALD and more.
Fleet Foxes - A Very Lonely Solstice - Made during the height of the pandemic, this solo set from Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold finds itself on quite a bit this time of the year. The sound, emanating from the halls of Brooklyn’s St. Ann and Holy Trinity Church, is the perfect backdrop for the cold season. This version of Tiger Mountain Peasant Song is incredible.
Why The Internet Isn't Fun Anymore - Revisited this article from New Yorker columnist Kyle Chayka recently. I don’t know if it’s just me, but the content that’s being fed to me feels… almost dystopian. I cannot believe that I’m spending the amount of time I do looking at the shit that’s fed to me, however, I can’t help myself. It’s truly an addiction, and no matter how hard I try, I keep coming back to the bullshit.

Redline 501's from Swimmers - Friends of the shop and SLC based Sam and Taylar run our favorite vintage store, Swimmers and SHOPTAYLAR. Perfectly worn, faded, everything you think of when you think about a pair of vintage 501’s.
Ghiaia Cashmere Marinaio Cotton Crewneck - Pasadena based Ghiaia Cashmere makes some of my favorite articles of clothing, and this sweater is perfect in every way - the hue of orange, the cut, the knit, styling, everything.
Acre / Carter Young Western Business Shirt - Our first collaboration with London based designer Carter Young, designed in Salt Lake City and London.
John Derian / Target Feathers Serving Platter - Good product is good product, and for the last two years, the John Derian Target collection has been banging. Call me a 45 year old mom, but I love everything from the collection. I picked one of these up on a recent Target run. Being in the shop so much, I forget how powerful the idea of discovery is, how exciting it can be, and stumbling across the line was a treat.
Alec Soth "Advice for Young Artists" - Alec Soth is a living legend, a modern day Eggleston, Shore or Walker. His newest book is a continuation of his persepective and creative genius.
